REMINDER: Return Your Student’s Book Bundle
Thursday & Friday, June 1 & 2
7:30 am – 12:00 pm
Commons

If your family rented the book bundle for your student’s textbooks this year, parents and students received an email last week. This email listed the books that need to be returned at the end of the school year. Please make sure your student returns their books to avoid a non-return fee. Books must be returned on either Thursday, June 1 or Friday, June 2 in the Commons. Please see Jenn Trott with questions.

You may also return your books on your own. For directions on how to do this, please click here.

UPDATE: Book Acquisition Progress Changes for the 2023-2024 School Year
The book acquisition for the 2023-2024 school year will be different than previous years.

There will no longer be a book bundle option for families. Families will now be responsible for purchasing or renting books for their student(s). Wheaton Academy has worked with our bookstore company, eCampus, to provide each family with a convenient option to purchase or rent books.

Families can shop for each student’s books using eCampus’ “Shop by Schedule” option on their website. Then, eCampus will ship the purchased or rented books directly to each family’s home. For full details on this new process click here. The bookstore for next year opens July 12.

We believe this option will provide an economical and streamlined process for families. Thank you for navigating this change with us. Please see Jenn Trott with questions.

Friends of Wheaton Academy Israel Trip
We are planning an adult trip to Israel in the Spring of 2024. If you are interested in attending, please see the letter from Steve Bult by clicking here.

Parent Survey
Because Wheaton Academy places a high value on parent feedback, we are conducting a parent survey. This year, we have once again enlisted the help of SchoolRIGHT to complete a CONFIDENTIAL PARENT SURVEY for our school community.  The survey was launched on Tuesday morning, May 2, from surveys@schoolright.net.  If you haven’t received it, please check your spam folder.  The survey will only be open for a short time, so please take a few minutes to share your thoughts!  Note: Survey invitations are email specific and will not work if forwarded to another email address.

Final Exam Preparation
Only two weeks left! Why do things seem to quickly fall apart as the end of a semester approaches? For many students, managing both current and make-up work, preparing for exams, and completing big projects can be overwhelming and add significant stress heading into final exam week. And if that wasn’t enough, the nicer weather encourages us to spend more time outside instead of staying inside and getting our work done. If you want to get a head start on preparations for the final stretch and finish the year strong, visit our website at www.thecenterforlifelonglearning.org to sign up to work with one of our executive function coaches!

Your student can strengthen essential skills for standardized testing with free personalized practice on Khan Academy®. Please click the link for specific directions on how to link your student’s fall PSAT NMSQT score to the practice exams. As a parent, you might consider asking your student to add you to their College Board account so you can monitor their practice. You may want to set a goal for your student to log a certain amount of practice time between semesters and over the summer. Some parents may consider rewarding this time since higher test scores translate to increased college financial aid. Please reach out to Kermit Ellison or Bart Gregersen with questions.
