Sophomore and Junior Retreats
August 15-16

Welcome back, Sophomores and Juniors! We are so excited that in just over a week we are heading to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin for our overnight retreats from Sunday, August 15 – Monday, August 16. For Sophomores, we will meet at school at 2:00 p.m. in the Fieldhouse Courts, with a luggage drop-off in the Fieldhouse circle. Juniors will meet by the FAC lawn at 2:30 p.m., with a luggage drop-off in the front circle by the Atrium. Both classes will return to WA’s campus around 5 pm on Monday, August 16.

IMPORTANT, time-sensitive materials needed! In order to attend the retreats, each student needs to fill out and submit TWO forms. All students need to have our school’s “Acknowledgement of Risks” form digitally signed as well as this waiver submitted for the camp. Please fill out and return this waiver to the front office or email a signed copy to JHoltrop@wheatonacademy.org by Friday, August 13.

Information including a detailed itinerary, packing list, and bus assignments will be available to view here on the website in the next few days. Please keep your eyes peeled!

We look forward to seeing everyone very soon as we believe this time will be a great kick-off for the new school year!

August Calendar at a Glance
The 2021-2022 school year is upon us! In addition to centralizing some of our school calendars, we included some calendar highlights of major school events in August to this page. While you have already received information about each of these events individually, here is the information consolidated for your planning purposes. Thank you for adding the appropriate and applicable dates and times to your calendar, and for submitting your RSVP when necessary.

Welcome Back Volunteers
We missed our parent volunteers last year and our looking forward to partnering with you again! Please click here for the volunteer opportunities sign-up. You can send it to the front office or email it back to Jim Holtrop. Thanks for helping make this new school year successful.

Senior Trip Payment Reminder
The deadline to sign-up for the Senior trip and the first payment of $550 is Friday, August 27. Please send a check made payable to Wheaton Academy to the attention of Jim Holtrop, and register with Joshua Expeditions at joshuaexpeditions.org. Find the Traveler Application under the MY TRAVEL dropdown. When you register, use the Expedition Number X129.  Please do not make payments to Joshua Expeditions.

Will You Partner with us in our Mission?
Did you know that Wheaton Academy provides over $2M in financial assistance to over one-third of Academy students each year? This would not be possible, however, without the generosity of our faithful supporters. Would you prayerfully consider a financial gift today? Your gift on behalf of our mission directly impacts our students as they are molded and shaped into young men and women who understand every discipline in light of the truth of the Gospel. Thank you for partnering with us in our mission as the Lord leads you. Click here to provide a gift.

Guitar Lessons
If your son or daughter is interested in taking guitar lessons at Wheaton Academy after school, please click here for more information or contact Evan Jasper at ejasper@wheatonacademy.org or 630-520-1478.

OnCampus Login Changes
Parents, on July 8, your OnCampus login was changed to be more secure.  You should have received an email from wheatonacademy@myschoolapp.com with an invitation to create a Blackbaud ID. Please follow those directions.  OnCampus remains the same; it is only your login password that will need to be reset.  If you encounter difficulties or need the invitation re-sent, please contact Bob Vishanoff bobvishanoff@wheatonacademy.org.

Book Lists for Families who OPTED-OUT
If you chose to OPT-OUT of Wheaton Academy purchasing your book order for you, and plan to rent/buy your own books, the book lists for courses are available on our website. You will need to go to Families and click on the eCampus Bookstore link. Once you get to the bookstore, choose the ORDER NOW box and search for your student’s course names to see which books are needed for your student’s schedule. You do not need to rent/buy the books from eCampus. However, this is the location where you will find the books for each course. Important Note: You need to rent/purchase all books listed even if they are listed as Optional. The Optional reference is an internal note for the book company, not for our families to think the books are optional. Please contact Jenn Trott if you have questions.

Athletics

All Fall sports will begin on Monday, August 9, 2021. As in the past, all athletes must have a new physical and the athletic packet completed and uploaded onto Magnus in order to participate on the first day of tryouts.  You can log in to Magnus through your OnCampus account.  Once you are in Magnus, you will also find a printable Athletic Packet form on this site to print, complete and upload.

If you have any questions feel free to contact Dawn Hamm in the Athletic Department at 630-562-7565.
