Evening in the Furnace

Furnace Company Dance and Comedy Improv will be having their fall performance called “Evening in the Furnace” on November 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the FAC auditorium. Tickets are $5.00 and will be available at the door! Come for a night of fun!

WA Men’s Prayer
Saturday, November 13

Alumni White Chapel
On the second Saturday of each month, the men of Wheaton Academy meet to pray for our school and hear from one of our employees. Please join us tomorrow, at 8:00 a.m. in the Alumni White Chapel. Wheaton Academy Bible teacher and basketball coach, Tate Fritz, will be our speaker for this month. Light refreshments are served.

WA Women’s Prayer

Armour Building Apartment
All women are invited to pray for our students, teachers, staff, and school on Tuesdays. During November there will not be prayer on the Tuesday of Thanksgiving week. If are interested in meeting for prayer the evening of Monday, November 29 from 7:00-8:00 p.m., please contact Mary Miller at marym996.mac@mac.com, location TBD.

Senior Cap and Gown Assembly, Wednesday, November 17
On Wednesday, November 17 during Advisory the seniors will meet in the FAC with our Jostens representative for an important assembly regarding purchasing cap and gowns for graduation. Jostens will return on Friday, November 19 during lunch to take orders. Please be sure your student attends are receives the packet necessary for ordering.

The WA Appreciation team has raised enough funds to provide a wonderful Christmas treat for faculty and staff because of your generosity. We look forward to the sweet treats and special blessings we can give to them in December.  We will do another request for sponsorship for the April Appreciation Luncheon in the Spring. Thank you again for your support!  

Senior Pictures
The end of the first semester is coming fast! If you have not submitted your child’s yearbook picture, please send it in before Christmas break. Pictures should be sent to yearbook@wheatonacademy.org. We need front-facing and shoulder-up portraits only.

Senior Ads for Yearbooks!
Parents – Reminder that senior yearbook ads will again be available for purchase this year for $150 per quarter-page ad. If you order a senior ad, you do not need to order a yearbook through the Jostens website as that fee is included in the $150.  The deadline for the ads is March 12. Ads can be sent to yearbook@wheatonacademy.org. A check payable to Wheaton Academy may be sent to the attention of Jim Holtrop in the front office. You may click here for an example of the ad size and layout. The yearbook staff will gladly design the ad for you if you send in the photo images and the message you would like included.

2022 Winterim Course Registration
Our 2022 Winterim courses are available to view on our website. We are offering over 50 exciting and different courses to choose from. Students will register online for an am and pm class in OnCampus at home during the following dates and times:

Sophomores: Monday, November 15, 6:00-10:00 p.m.
Freshmen: Wednesday, November 17, 6:00-10:00 p.m.

Specific registration instructions will be emailed home before registration begins. Please contact Jenn Trott with any questions.

Winterim Internships
Many students are beginning to solicit and secure Winterim 2022 internships. If your student is completing an internship during Winterim this year, please have him/her register the internship in OnCampus during the registration times for his/her class which are listed above. WA is also soliciting Internship Hosts. Please contact Phil Strzalka at pstrzalka@wheatonacademy.org if you or your organization would be interested in hosting a student as an intern.

Financial Aid Applications are Now Open; New Deadline of December 31 for Returning Families 
Wheaton Academy Financial Aid applications for the 2022-2023 year are now open must be completed by December 31, 2021—a new deadline this year. All families who will need to apply for aid will be required to complete a financial aid application through FACTS®. 

This requirement includes any family who has received or may qualify for an SGO scholarship (Empower IL and Children’s Tuition scholarships). Please read additional information and further instructions here.

International Host Family Informational Meeting
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to host one of our international students in your home? Come to a zoom meeting on November 17 at 8:00 a.m. or 7:30 p.m. to learn about this great ministry opportunity for your family. 2020-2021 Yearbooks
Yearbooks from last school year have been distributed to all students who ordered them ahead of time through Jostens’ website. We have leftover copies now available to sell to students who did not order. While we have copies remaining, they will be for sale at the Front Office for $25. Cash or a check made payable to Wheaton Academy will be accepted forms of payment. Email yearbook@wheatonacademy.org with any questions!

COVID Update
Over the last week, there have been two positive Covid cases.  As a reminder, we ask that you keep your kids home if they are experiencing cold or flu symptoms.  If your student is not feeling well, please keep them home and contact Jenn Sezonov – jsezonov@wheatonacademy.org.  Also, consider consulting with a doctor to evaluate further and determine if testing is necessary.
