Internships
At Wheaton Academy, we desire to create unique opportunities for students to engage in career-shaping opportunities to help them discover the way God has uniquely equipped them to positively impact the world. Wheaton Academy places such high value on these experiences that it is policy that all students must complete one internship during their four years of high school as a graduation requirement.
In order to support students in this requirement, Wheaton Academy provides multiple paths through which a student can complete their internship.
If you have a contact who is willing to host you as an intern and you would like to use that opportunity as your Wheaton Academy Internship Credit, please fill out the Internship Records Form below to get added to ensure you get credit.

Internship Credit Requirements
An internship is a hands-on learning opportunity at a place of business where you have a mentor or host who teaches you about a particular career field, teaches you components of the job, and assists you as you participate in the company’s work.
Internships should not be limited to job ‘shadowing’. They also shouldn’t be part time jobs that are not exploring a particular job field.
If you have an opportunity that you would like to use as your internship credit, but are unsure if it meets the requirements, you can speak to Ms. White in the Marketing Office. Then fill out the Internship Records Form HERE to be added to the Internship TEAMS before the opportunity begins.
New this year, students can browse opportunities and Industry Partners who have hosted Wheaton Academy students in the past. Each opportunity will include a job description, point of contact and information about the opportunity.
For the Wheaton Academy credit, you are required to work a minimum of 60 hours. You cannot count more than 8 hours per day toward that total.
Students will submit a portfolio of materials including a reflection paper, a daily log, and artifacts documenting your work.
Our internship coordinator, Hannah White, can be found in the Marketing office on campus and can be reached at ext. 7526
