GLOW DANCE!
Friday, September 5

The Student Activities Team invites the entire student body to the annual Glow Dance on Friday, September 5, following the home football game. All students are invited to our first dance of the year, in the Warrior Dome! The dance will end at 11 pm. This year, to welcome all students to the new school year, there will be no charge for the evening! Just show up! For further questions, email Brian Hogan.

Picture Day!
Picture Day this year will be September 3 and September 4. A make-up/retake day will be October 8. Lifetouch will be set up in the Atrium from 8:00-1:30 on these days. It is very important that your student stop by to take his/her picture within the given time frame on one of those three days. There is no allotted time for students to take their pictures, so it is up to the student to ensure they get their picture taken. Before school, study hall, lunch, and passing periods are all great times to stop by! Please note, Lifetouch will be gone by the end of the day, so they will not be available after school. Please reach out to Miss Rusthoven (krusthoven@wheatonacademy.org) with any questions. Thank you!

All women are invited to attend the first Women’s Prayer event of the season, the Fall Luncheon. Please join us for a time of prayer, fellowship, and food. Please click here for more information and to RSVP.

General News

Trap Team
Did you know that Wheaton Academy has a competitive precision team shooting club that meets on Tuesday evenings and Saturday middays in both the fall and spring seasons at the St. Charles Sportsmen’s Club in Elburn? Trap Shooting is a team sport with a strong individual and team component designed to emphasize safety and improve accuracy when using firearms.

At least one parent must have an active FOID card for anyone interested in joining the Trap Team this season. A shooting membership and safety course is offered by St. Charles Sportsmen’s Club on Saturday, September 20, at 9:45 am, and is required to participate.

Existing members’ first practice is Tuesday, September 2, at 5:45 pm, and new members begin Saturday, September 20, at 11:45 am. Hope to see you there! For more information, contact Mr. McCallum.

Driver’s Ed
In an effort to accommodate student schedules and extracurricular activities, Wheaton Academy offers after-school and summer driver’s education courses by hosting Excel Driving School. This year’s Driver’s Education Class Schedule can be found on the Families page and has a class starting in just a few weeks!

Senior Picture Submission
Please begin thinking about the photo your student would like to submit to the yearbook. For their senior year, students are able to choose a photo that they would like to submit to the yearbook as their senior portrait. Your student may have chosen to take their senior picture with Prestige over the summer, or they may have had their photos taken through a different company. Either option is perfectly fine, but each requires different steps for submitting their photo.

If your student chose to take their photos with Prestige, Prestige will ask you which photo you would like to select for the yearbook, and it will automatically be sent to us. If this is the option your student chose, please simply select the photo you want submitted to the yearbook, and no further action is needed. You are all set!

If your student had their photo taken with a different company, that is perfectly fine as well. However, since Wheaton Academy does not work directly with other companies, you will need to submit your chosen photo to yearbook@wheatonacademy.org. Once you have sent in your student’s photo, you are good to go!

Please keep a few things in mind when selecting the photo you plan to submit to the yearbook:

  1. Please do not send in a cropped or altered photo. Our system will not allow us to import a screenshot or cropped photo. Please make sure to send the original photo via email to yearbook@wheatonacademy.org. Please send the photo as a file, not a link. Thank you!
  2. Please submit a forward-facing, clear picture of your student’s face from the shoulders up, with a non-distracting background. Due to the dimensions of the yearbook photo frame, all photos will be cropped from the shoulders up. You are welcome to send in a full body photo, but please understand that, given the dimensions of the frame, it will need to be cropped. Please do not crop the photo before sending it, as the program will not allow us to upload it. We will crop it when we import it.
  3. When emailing your student’s photo, please include their first and last name.

All photos must be submitted by December 19, 2025. Please reach out to Miss Rusthoven with any questions (krusthoven@wheatonacademy.org). Thanks!

Athletics

SWIMMING at Wheaton Academy
If your daughter or son practices and competes on a club swim team, they can participate in the sectional meet, which serves as the qualifying meet for the IHSA state meet. Wheaton Academy does not have swim practices, and we don’t have dual meets. Girls’ swimming is in the fall (sectional meet on Saturday, November 8), and Boys’ swimming is a winter sport (Sectional Meet on Saturday, February 21). If your son or daughter is interested in participating, please contact Mr. Mack at kmack@wheatonacademy.org

Athletic Passes
We are happy to announce again that this year we will be providing to all Wheaton Academy families, faculty, and staff one athletics pass per household that will provide you and your family free entry into any regular season home sports game(s) for the 2025-26 season. Please stop by the Athletic or Front Office any time M-F from 9 am-4 pm to pick up your pass.
