As we prepare for the 2020-2021 academic year, this is a reminder that current Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors will be automatically re-enrolled as part of the Continuous Enrollment Policy.  We look forward to continuing to build a relationship with your student over the course of his or her entire high school experience.  In March 2020, we will bill the re-enrollment deposit of $175 to your 2019-2020 Smart Tuition account, and this deposit will be applied to the 2020-2021 tuition bill.  (Please include the Smart Tuition ID number from the invoice when remitting payment.)

Coronavirus Update
Our school nurses have been continuing to monitor the coronavirus outbreak in China. Please click here for more detailed information from the Health Department that was sent to every school in Illinois.

Health Update: Influenza
The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting that there is widespread influenza activity across the state. Please take a moment to review the following information in order to keep our school healthy and safe:

  • Influenza symptoms include fever, headache, chills, body aches, fatigue, and weakness.
  • Please keep your student home if they have a fever (100.0 degrees or higher) and during the first days of illness when symptoms are most severe, and the infection is most contagious.
  • A student can return to school when no fever has been detected for 24 hours without the aid of any medication and when symptoms have improved.
  • If you are reporting your student absent due to illness, please include the symptoms in your voicemail, especially if they have a fever and/or a positive influenza diagnosis. The nurses are monitoring cases of influenza-like symptoms at our school during this time of year.
  • Please remind your students that frequent hand washing using soap and warm water for 15-20 seconds is very important in preventing the spread of influenza.

Thank you for helping to keep our school healthy! Please contact our nurse, Rachel Austin, with any questions at (630) 562-7504 or raustin@wheatonacademy.org.

Through The Storms – A Parent/Teen Event
Saturday, February 15, 2020
9:00 – 10:30 a.m.
Every family experiences storms. These storms come in many forms – conflict, anger, discouragement, failure, grief, and more. What does your family do when those storms come? How do you respond? Do the storms drive you apart or push you together? This unique seminar experience will equip you and your teenager with biblical principles and practical ways to face the storms of life by building stronger relationships with God and with one another.

Parents, along with junior high and senior high students, are welcome. In the case of students not being able to come, parents are encouraged to attend on their own. This is a free event, but we ask that you RSVP to events@VisionaryFam.com.

The winter sports are in the middle of their season. If your child is planning on trying out for a spring sports team and has yet to participate on a sports team this year,  now is the time to make sure they have their physical and athletic packet paperwork completed. Tryouts for the spring season begin March 2, and your child will not be allowed to participate without this paperwork updated and completed in Magnus.
