General News

A Message from the Principal
As we have come to the end of a semester like no other, I want to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart.  Our faculty, staff, students, and parents have all come together in powerful ways this semester, and we give all glory to God for allowing us to be in-person at Wheaton Academy.

During this season of advent, the good news of the Gospel is at the forefront of our lives.  Often in the classic Christmas carols, that message of hope is so clearly communicated.  In Silent Night, verse three:

Silent night, holy night
Son of God, oh, love’s pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth

We are reminded of the love of Christ, who came to earth for us.  And that because of Him, God’s redeeming grace is available to us.  Jesus Christ, the holy one, is our Savior and Lord.  My prayer is that you would find great hope and peace in the good news of Jesus Christ.  We wish each of you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  See you in 2021!

Will You Help us Finish the Year Strong?
Did you know that for the 2020-2021 academic year, Wheaton Academy was able to provide over $2M in financial assistance to our families? This would not be possible, however, without the generosity of our faithful supporters. Would you please help us finish the year strong by prayerfully considering an end-of-year financial gift? Your gift on behalf of our mission directly impacts our students as they are molded and shaped into young men and women who understand every discipline in light of the truth of the Gospel. Thank you for partnering with us in our mission as the Lord leads you. Click here to provide a gift.

Faculty and Staff Appreciation Update
The WA Appreciation team used your generous donations to provide a lovely hot cocoa and donut day for all Faculty and Staff on Tuesday, December 15.  The Christmas tree in the Atrium was decorated with gift card ornaments, and each person received a special treat to their favorite store. It was such a great day and brought everyone good cheer. Thank you, and Merry Christmas!

College Corner

Parents of Junior Students,
There was a bubbling error when students filled out the preadministration session for the SAT, which prevented them from opting to be considered for the National Merit Scholarship. Mrs. Churchill, in student services, has communicated with the National Merit Scholarship organization to fix this error. Therefore, all junior students scores have been shared with the National Merit Scholarship organization, and no further action is required for students or families.  Please reach out to Gina Churchill if you have any further questions or concerns at gchurchill@wheatonacademy.org.
