Thursday, September 2
We are excited to welcome you to Back to School night on Thursday, September 2, 2021. Our goal is that you would have the opportunity to experience life at Wheaton Academy the way your student does each day. This year Back-to-School Night is an in-person event only. Before you arrive at school, you will need to access your student’s schedule and classroom locations. To find the schedule, please follow these instructions:
- Login to your Parent or your Student’s OnCampus account
- Once logged in, click on “Children” in the left-hand corner
- Click on your child’s name
- Scroll down to the middle of the page and see your student’s schedule on the left-hand side
- If you want to see it in period order, click on the Schedule tab, then click on Friday, which shows all seven periods
Due to COVID-19 and the governor’s indoor mask mandate, please bring a mask to wear when you are in the buildings.

After the Football Game
Student Council would like to invite all Wheaton Academy students to a Glow Dance on Friday, September 3. Immediately following the football game, join us for a dance on the Performance Trust Field. The theme for the game will be Neon Night. Come to the game dressed in your bright neon and support the team, then stay for the dance! This event is free of charge and for current WA students only. Any questions, please see Jim Holtrop.
Senior Trip Payment Reminder
The deadline to sign-up for the Senior trip and the first payment of $550 is today, August 27. Please send a check made payable to Wheaton Academy to the attention of Jim Holtrop, and register with Joshua Expeditions at joshuaexpeditions.org. Find the Traveler Application under the MY TRAVEL dropdown. When you register, use Expedition Number X129. Please do not make payments to Joshua Expeditions.
Senior Ads for Yearbooks
Parents, senior yearbook ads will again be available for purchase this year for $150 per quarter-page ad. If you order a senior ad, you do not need to order a yearbook through the Jostens website as that fee is included in the $150. The deadline for the ads is March 12. Ads can be sent to email@example.com. A check payable to Wheaton Academy may be sent to the attention of Jim Holtrop in the front office. You may click here for an example of the ad size and layout. The yearbook staff will gladly design the ad for you if you send in the photo images and text!
Senior Picture Options
Lifetouch will be available at Wheaton Academy to have senior pictures taken on September 16 & 17, from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Please make an appointment by either calling Lifetouch at 630-910-6800 option five or go online at prestigeappointment.com, create an account, select our school, and follow the prompts to book an appointment.
You may choose to use a different source for your yearbook picture or send in one of your own. Images may be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. The photos need to be submitted by March 12 to be included in the yearbook publication. We require a forward-facing portrait taken from the shoulders up, with a plain background. Click here for examples.
We will provide periodic updates to keep you informed regarding COVID cases at Wheaton Academy throughout the school year. We are grateful that we have not had any positive cases at the end of our second week of school.
The Shack, our student-run food truck business, will be OPEN, serving delicious food at Wheaton Academy’s first home football game against Christ the King High School on Friday, September 3. Come experience community around the Shack! We will be serving Shack n’ Cheese with (or without) pulled pork, brats, and more before, during and after the game!
Our trip application will go live on August 30. This Trip application is due by Wednesday, September 8, by midnight. Please contact Amy Heavey if you have any further questions.
Wheaton Academy Online Auction Coming Soon
Wheaton Academy hosts the annual Todd Beamer Benefit Golf Outing each year in honor of 9/11 hero and WA alumnus Todd Beamer. The outing is followed by dinner, awards, and a live auction. In an effort to include more of our Wheaton Academy family, we are offering an online auction as well. The Wheaton Academy online auction will “go live” for bidding Wednesday, September 1 at noon, where auction items can be viewed and bid on by clicking on this link. All funds raised will support need-based scholarships and provide the resources necessary to further the advancement of Wheaton Academy’s mission of nurturing growth in our students through relationships, excellence, and service to the glory of God.
