Grandparents Day Virtual Chapel

Due to Covid guidelines and restrictions, we cannot host an in-person Grandparents Day at Wheaton Academy this year. However, our Chapel on Tuesday, April 27, will be focused on how grandparents and other special family friends impact the lives of our students and our community. Academy Awards & Spring Art Show

Fine Arts Center and Livestream
Each April, we celebrate the talents and achievements of our students throughout the past year. If your student will be recognized this year for a specific achievement, you should have been notified. Due to COVID-19 spacing restrictions, each award winner is allowed two additional guests to attend the ceremony. The Academy Awards will be Livestreamed, and we encourage our community to watch the event as it happens!
Theatre Fest
May 6-8
FAC Lawn
We are excited about all of the upcoming Academy Theatre events in May, including our Theatre Fest weekend. We want to share some important logistical details about the theatre shows on May 6-8.
Over the course of the weekend, we will be putting on six different performances across three days! Tickets will cost $5 per show and will be available for purchase at the entrance to the show. Tickets will be available for cash-only purchase.
For the Musical Theatre Studies show, Frozen Jr, the show will be performed outdoors, under a tent on the FAC lawn. Please plan to bring your own chairs – when you arrive, you will be seated by an usher according to proper distancing guidelines. Please wear a face-covering upon arrival.
For the Advanced Drama shows, Mousetrap and Much Ado About Nothing, the FAC auditorium will perform the shows. You will be seated with your party upon arrival according to proper distancing guidelines. Please wear a face covering for this indoor performance.

Choral and Instrumental Concerts
May 10-12

We are excited about the upcoming Choral and Instrumental Concerts in May and are so excited for the opportunity to showcase students’ gifts and talents. We wanted to share some important logistical details about the upcoming concerts.
There will be no charge to attend the Choral and Instrumental performances. We will be hosting the concerts in an outdoor venue, under a large tent on the FAC lawn. Accordingly, we are asking that you bring your own chairs. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a Wheaton Academy usher and seated according to proper distancing guidelines. We ask that you wear a face-covering while being seated, and after being seated, you will have the option to remove the face covering.

Wheaton Academy will be hosting the Junior Formal and the Senior Formal, “Evening Under the Stars.” The Junior class formal is May 14, and the Senior class formal is May 15. The evenings will be held on the Fine Arts Center lawn at Wheaton Academy from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. The night will be a formal sit-down dinner with a few fun activities. Tickets for both events will be on sale May 3-7 only. Tickets can be purchased in the Atrium before school and during lunch for $60.00 per person. There will no tickets sold after May 7. This event is for WA students only. We look forward to celebrating the classes during this new event.

Faculty and Staff Appreciation Thank You
Thank you to so many parents who contributed to the Faculty & Staff Appreciation Fund. Your generosity allowed us to give each of our faculty and staff a special $500 bonus at the Appreciation Luncheon today! We are thankful for our school community and proud of all that has been accomplished this year!

Over the last week, we had two positive cases for COVID-19, and ten are currently in quarantine.

College Corner
AP Exams
The AP exams are just around the corner, and we want to remind you of some important details. For most students, exams hosted at Wheaton Academy will be inside the fieldhouse, gym, or Warrior Room.
For at-home exams, students will need to be prepared to set up a quiet testing location and ensure a strong internet connection. Teachers will walk students through getting all steps set up to ensure the successful administration of the at-home exam. Fall Sports
We are excited to have sports being played again and look forward to the upcoming fall sports season! As we look ahead, we want to give you information about the upcoming Fall Sports seasons:
- First Day Of Tryouts– All Fall sports will begin on Monday, August 9, 2021.
As in the past, all athletes must have a new physical and the athletic packet completed and uploaded onto Magnus in order to participate on the first day of tryouts.
