At Wheaton Academy, our student culture is founded on the belief that students who are seeking to live out their relationship with Christ can be treated maturely, trusted appropriately, and held accountable in ways that reflect respect for students as individuals. This attitude toward students serves to intentionally create an environment specifically geared to help teenagers flourish. The Wheaton Academy student culture is designed for the mature, and those who are responsible, respectful, and motivated will absolutely flourish. Students are trusted but simultaneously held accountable to be good stewards of their opportunities.

We begin from a posture of trust, while taking obedience, integrity, respect, and responsibility seriously. When trust is broken, we respond seriously, but the goal is growth rather than control.
We know & value our students as individuals.
Students flourish when they feel seen, known, and valued as image bearers.
We give students ownership and a voice to shape their school experience.
We organize around what helps students learn, listen to their feedback, and create shared ownership rather than simply doing school “to” them.
We give students authentic opportunities to lead, create, and grow.
Students are given permission to innovate, dream, lead, and engage the world now, even though their leadership skills and worldview are still developing.
We use correction for formation & restoration.
Discipline is handled with dignity, privately when possible, and with a focus on growth, maturity, restoration, and learning from failure. We also intentionally celebrate effort, excellence, success, joy, and fun.
