Book Bundle/Schedule Pick-Up/Parking Pass Registration

Commons
This year, due to the Illinois Department of Health state guidelines, we will handle our book bundle/schedule pick-up dates a bit differently. Families who Opted-In to rent the book bundle through Wheaton Academy may choose their pick-up date and time by clicking here. We request that each family fill a slot to limit the total number of people in the Commons at any one time to 50 people. Parents of freshmen: You may sign up for a slot, or you may come when you drop your student off for LAUNCH at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 17. Students who need to purchase a parking pass may come during their scheduled time as well and see Mr. Ellison in his office to do so. Please make sure to pick up books on August 17 or 18 before classes begin on Wednesday, August 19. Any questions, contact Jenn Trott.
LAUNCH – for Incoming Freshmen
Monday, August 17
11:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Relationships are a key component of the Wheaton Academy culture, and we want to start building community for the class of 2024. We are inviting all freshmen to LAUNCH on Monday, August 17, from 11:30-5:30 p.m. During this time, they will get to meet members of our senior Project Lead teams and some faculty and staff. This will be a great opportunity for our freshman to acclimate to Wheaton Academy and get to know their classmates. Parents may pick up rented book bundles in the Commons after they drop off their students for the afternoon.
Back to School Prayer Night
Tuesday, August 18
6:00-7:00 p.m.
Students and parents, join us for a night of prayer as we kick off the new school year. Without question, this year looks different and holds its unique challenges, but it also holds great promise and opportunity. We will pray for God’s strength in times of struggle and His faithfulness to see us through. Meet on the lawn beside the FAC from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Please bring a mask and be prepared to social distance.
Student Worship Night

Students, we will host our first worship night of the new year on Tuesday, August 25, from 6:00-7:00 on the lawn beside the FAC. Please bring a mask and be prepared to social distance.
Women’s Prayer
Tuesday, August 25
1:45 p.m.
We are excited that the Wheaton Academy Women’s Prayer Group will be meeting during the 2020-2021 school year with a few modifications. The first gathering will be on August 25 at 1:45 pm for an outside prayer walk around the Wheaton Academy campus. (The prayer walk will take place unless it is storming. Please plan to meet on the lawn east of the Fine Arts Center.)
Meetings will begin on Tuesday, September 15, from 1:45 – 2:45 pm. While the weather is pleasant, meetings will take place outside. Please bring your lawn chair or a blanket and plan to meet on the lawn to the east of the Fine Arts Center. Please keep in mind: While meetings are planned to take place outside, a location alternative inside the building will be available. Social distancing guidelines will be observed, and masks are required when entering the buildings.

First Week of School
Parents: We have two things we want to call your attention to as we head into next week:
First, we are requiring all families to review and sign a Health Commitment & Waiver. This required form is uploaded to Magnus for all families to review and sign digitally. Please sign this form before the first day of school.
Second, we wanted to let you know that the schedule for the first three days of school will be slightly different than the daily bell schedule published in the Unite: Part II Plan. Please note that this revised schedule is for the first three days of school only. The revised schedule will allow us to communicate with all students on campus regarding new procedures for school each day through assemblies that follow all health and wellness guidelines, the first advisory group of the year, and chapel on Friday. The schedule will be as follows:

For those ordering lunch through Pushcoin, please note the class periods before lunch that you will need to include on your order form. If you have already placed a lunch order, there is no need to revise it. We will ensure the lunches get distributed appropriately on the first three days of school.
Schedule Changes
Thank you for your patience with schedule changes. Please note that due to Covid-19 guidelines, we have very little flexibility to change schedules as we have classrooms set up for all desks to be 6 feet apart, which limits the class size. We will work with each student individually on schedule changes and accommodate them as we are able. We also appreciate your grace as our registrar continues to adjust schedules to make sure all students can be appropriately distanced per the Covid-19 guidelines.
Book Lists for Families who OPT-OUT
If you choose to OPT-OUT of Wheaton Academy purchasing your book order for you and plan to rent/buy your own books, the book list for courses are available. You will need to go to Community, Students & Families, and click on the eCampus Bookstore link at the left side of the page. Once you get to the bookstore, you will either create an account if you are a first time user, or go to the Sign-in button under My Account. Your login is your student’s wascholar email (i.e., firstname.lastname@wascholar.org), and you will need to create a password or request a new one to begin. You may then search for course names to see which books are needed for your student’s schedule. You do not need to rent/buy the books from eCampus. However, this is the location where you will find the books for each course. Please remember to complete the Textbook Acquisition Form by August 1, 2020, to avoid being charged a second time for books.

Parent Volunteers Needed to Help with Lunch
We are so excited to be on campus again with students this fall! One area that will be handled differently is lunch.
For students who are purchasing school lunches, pre-boxed lunches will be ordered online in advance. Lunches will then be delivered to classrooms before the lunch bell rings each day. Students will eat lunch in their classrooms within the guidelines of social distancing requirements. Weather permitting, students will be allowed to get their lunches and eat outside, also observing social distancing requirements.
This is where we are asking for your help! Each day, we need parents to help organize the pre-boxed lunches into classroom orders and then deliver them. We welcome your help as you are able – once a week or multiple days, but we need help every day! Below is the school bell schedule for the week. Lunch will be delivered during the class before lunch each day.

Student Pick-up Drop-off Hawthorne Entrance Only
We are requesting that all families who are picking up and or dropping off students before and after school to please use the Hawthorne Avenue entrance ONLY. We are looking to keep open the north drive lane entirely for fire, and police should that be needed. Athletics
